MEA designed a comprehensive stormwater management program to comply with the New Jersey Stormwater Best Management Practices. These extensive plans facilitated approvals through local, county, and state agencies. Our regulatory permitting services included securing a complex Flood Hazard Area Individual Permit, as well as other State Department of Environmental Protection permits, within five months of the project inception.
Our innovative engineering solutions helped to maintain the existing groundwater treatment network on-site, minimized impacts to the wetland and stream corridors, and accommodated the data center’s requirements for it’s substantial cooling system. Additionally, the vast network of mechanical piping associated with the complex was seamlessly coordinated with utilities across the site. With LEED Gold certification as the project’s objective, MEA addressed sustainability and site-green technology, applying breakthrough techniques to recycle the cooling water. Along with the use of native plantings and meadow grasses, MEA minimized land disturbances and maximimized the potential of an underutilized parcel of land.
